SAN MATEO is a great flysite for paragliding near Manila but only flyable with westerly winds. This is mainly during the rain season (June until October). Flights can be very high with some spectacular views of Metro Manila and the mountains to the East. In case of predicted thunderstorms or strong winds during the rain season, flights might have to be canceled at short notice. For safety reasons it is only possible to fly in San Mateo on sunny days with moderate winds. After all paragliding is a very weather dependent activity.
The best time to fly in San Mateo is often between 10am to 2pm.
